Rytis Ambrazevičius – General Manager at Sampo Life Lithuania, Lithuanian Branch 
Member of The Board of SE Sampo Life Insurance Baltic and General Manager of Lithuanian Branch Sampo Life Lithuania. Rytis has been staying with the company since 2005. Within the period of several years Sampo Life Lithuania due to its effective strategy succeeded to become No. 3 in Lithuanian life insurance market. Until then Rytis had more than 10 years experience of developing and initiating changes in companies such as G4S Lithuania (previously Falck Security) and Concern SBA and its subsidiaries. Since 2005 he is a member of the Board of Association of Life Insurance Companies of Lithuania and in 2006 he was - Chairman of this Association. Rytis holds MBA degree from International Business School at Vilnius University.

Panel discussion: Labour migration – pros and cons

Many companies explore possibilities to attract employees from foreign labour markets in order to reduce labour costs. Is the Baltic and European legislation favourable for these processes? What impact will it leave on the national macroeconomic indicators? Some Baltic companies are already engaged in importing of labour force. Is it really worth it at this point? The answers will be provided by Elīna Egle, Jānis Ošlejs, Pārsla Baško and Sverker Rudeberg.

Elīna Egle – Head of the Employers’ Confederation of Latvia
Elīna Egle represents the Employers’ Confederation of Latvia in the International Organization of Employers, the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD and the Confederation of European Business. She is a member of Counsellors’ Convention in Jazepa Vitola Music Academy of Latvia and The School of Business Administration “Turība". She has obtained vast experience during her career in JSC Aldaris, where she was in charge of communications and public relations, gaining recognition from the International Public Relations Association and the Latvian Association or Public Relations Professionals. Elīna started her higher education with a degree in sociology and continued political science in the doctoral programme under the University of Latvia; her academic activities are focused on public administration and representation of interests. Elīna is a member of the Latvian Association of Political Scientists.

Jānis Ošlejs – owner of the Primekss Group, Latvia
Jānis Ošlejs is an expert in macroeconomics, tax policies, labour economics, and speaker at international conferences, inter alia “The World in 2025: Governance and Migration. How the European Union will need to respond” (organized by Baltic International Institute),”Nordic market: how to find partners and become profitable” (organized by DB and Nordic Council), “The Place for Western Values in an Uncertain World” (organized by EPP-ED Group of the European Parliament), an active participant in public discussions, author of numerous articles, consultant on macroeconomic strategies.
Jānis holds MBA degree from Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and currently is doctoral student at the University of Latvia.
He is also an owner of the Primekss Group - composite concrete technology company and Chairman of Primekss companies in the Baltics and Scandinavia. Owner of MolPort – a global IT search engine for chemists. Jānis is author of many industry publications and participant in leading industry conferences.

Pārsla Baško – HR Director at brewery Aldaris, Latvia
Pārsla Baško is HR Manager with an experience in HR area for more than 10 years. Now Pārsla is employed in the largest brewery Aldaris as HR Director. Previously she worked in Schneider Electric - global company, represented in the Baltics with 3 sales offices and 1 production site – as HR Manager Baltic Countries; before that - HR Director in international media company Eniro Latvija. Pārsla is a member of HR Club Latvia.

Sverker Rudeberg – Spokesperson for Businesseurope
Sverker Rudeberg works for the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise with national, European and International Social Affairs. He participates in the event in his capacity of the spokesperson for BUSINESSEUROPE – the European Business and employers’ organisation – regarding immigration and free movement of workers. He has represented the European Business Community on numerous occasions regarding these issues at European level and at International level at the ILO Conference in 2004.
He has a law degree and a degree in business administration and economics from the University of Lund and has been a member of the Swedish Labour Court

Optimization project in Kesko Agro

This year we can clearly see the impact of economy on each company operating in this country. The resulting changes directly affect our employees. In order for companies to survive and to operate successfully in the future, it is required already today to provide for new types of investment, new strategies and a large amount of energy. Are Latvian companies able to exist on their own, or should they rather cooperate with the enterprises from our closest neighbouring countries, namely, Lithuania and Estonia? Baiba Pedraudze – Personnel Manager at Kesko Agro Latvija

Baiba has gained 8 years of experience in the position of Personnel Manager. She has worked for the IT company Microlink Latvia and currently represents SIA Kesko Agro Latvija. Her current daily activities are focused on an active participation in the development of the new strategy for the Baltic States, as well as implementation of common HR management processes. She has obtained her MBA and Master’s degree in Personnel management at the Riga International School of Economics and Business Administration. She is a Member of the Board at the Personnel Management Association of Latvia. Certified Personnel Manager.

Paulius Kibiša – Managing Director at Kesko Agro Lietuva
Paulius Kibiša has in-depth practical experience in running companies, managing and implementing change, building and leading teams, executing cost and administration optimization projects which has led to revenue, market share and profitability growth.  
Paulius has been the Managing Director of JSC Kesko Agro Lietuva since 2004. Company‘s organizational structure was realigned, unprofitable operations divested. Prior to that, Paulius was the Managing Director of JSC Fazer Gardesis. He has obtained vast experience of running sales and marketing functions in rapidly growing highly competitive telecommunications market during his carrier in Bite GSM. Paulius has gained insider’s knowledge of Baltic business environment and markets, living and running the sales of pharmaceutical multinational Eli Lilly and Company in Estonia and Latvia.
Paulius is a doctor of medicine, holds MBA degree of business administration from Baltic Management Institute and currently is a doctoral student of Sociology (Change Management) at the ISM University of Management and Economics.

Tiina has been working as HR Manager in Nordea Bank Estonia since 2006 and is now holding the position of HR Team Leader in New European Markets: Baltics, Poland and Russia. Prior to Nordea Bank has Tiina worked as a Managing Director of HR Association PARE in Estonia and also fulfilled the responsibilities of Head of Board in PARE. 
The university studies and degree of special pedagogy, psychological counselling as well as international business administration has been equally beneficial during her 14 years of experience as middle-manager, Managing Director and HR Manager in several companies both in public and private sector.
Nordea Bank Estonia was awarded for the Best HR Project 2007 for successfully implementing new corporate values and changing the organizational culture with Tiina as a Project Manager.

Economic slowdown and labour remuneration trends in the region

Hay Group compensation surveys show significant growth in salaries within the region during the last years despite of the disproportional growth of overall productivity, they reflect noticeable decreasing of differences in pay levels between Western European managers and managers in the fast growing economies such as the Baltic countries… The question is for how long the employers will be able to continuously increase the remuneration above the current level or salaries are not only about the money anymore? 
Neda Songinaite will share with you the latest trends in labour remuneration within the Baltic countries, as well as highlight what companies could do in order increase the value of their reward programs, thus ensuring the retention of the talented staff.

Neda is a General Manager for Baltic countries within Hay Group – a global consultancy company that helps organizations realize their strategies through people. Currently Neda is aiming to set up full spectrum Hay Group activities within the region as well as strengthening the image of a high calibre professional consulting in the market.
Neda is working for Hay Group for more than 6 years. Prior to that she was a Sociology lecturer in Lithuanian University of Law, has worked as a scientific collaborator in Self-Government Problems Research Centre in Klaipeda and a scientific collaborator in Sociology Institute (Sankt-Petersbourg branch) in Russian Academy of Sciences. Neda has experience as an HR Manager in Joint Stock Company Jan & Co Prekybos sistema. Neda has PhD degree in theory, methodology and history of Sociology and MA in Sociology (Sankt-Petersbourg University).
